Mandy’s Cattery is licenced by The New Forest District Council to board up to 47 cats.

The welfare of your animal(s) is paramount to us at Mandy’s Cattery, so we would ask you to take time to read the following Terms and Conditions.

Whilst all reasonable care and precautions are taken to ensure your pet receives proper care during its stay, it is distinctly understood that no liability is incurred by the Proprietor in respect of any loss or damage to the animals through sickness, injury, escape, or from any cause whatsoever.

Health and Safety and Prevention of the spread of disease or infection

Any known medical condition or illness must be declared at the time of booking.

No animal suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from, any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any animal showing signs of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon. Owners will appreciate that this is essential to safeguard the health of all animals boarded.

Should an animal in our care show signs of suffering from an infectious or contagious disease they will be moved to our isolation pen and you will be contacted.

Veterinary care is assured (should this be necessary) and any treatment prescribed by a veterinary can be continued during the cats stay.

Any vet bills relating to sickness, injury, escape or any cause whatsoever will be for the owners account. No liability will be incurred by the Proprietor for any personal injury to visitors, cats or damage to vehicles whilst on the property.

If in the unlikely and unfortunate event a cat should pass away whilst staying in the Cattery, the owner or owners’ emergency contact person will be advised. The cat will be taken to the Cattery’s designated veterinary surgery for the appropriate safe storage until the owner’s return, unless otherwise instructed by the owner.

All cats must be fully immunised against Feline Panleucopeniavirus (FPV), Feline Herpesvirus (FHV), and Feline Calicivirus (FCV). A booster is required annually.

An up-to-date vaccination certificate must be produced before admittance and copies taken.

Please see Information from the Feline Advisory Bureau for full details of which vaccinations your cat will require.

An effective flea management programme requires treatment by a vet-recommended formula every 4-5 weeks. If your animal is not on a regular flea treatment programme, please apply a flea treatment such as Frontline just before your pet comes to stay with us.

If your animal has not been wormed within the three months prior to staying with us, please administer an appropriate worming treatment before boarding commences.

If we find that an animal boarding with us has arrived with fleas and/or worms, we will administer an appropriate treatment, the cost of which will be payable on collection of your pet.

Any male cat over 6 months, which has not been neutered, cannot be boarded, mainly because they present an infection hazard.

Animals from the same household sharing a chalet will we separated should any problems arise (e.g. any aggressive behaviours) and their may be additional boarding charges.

Visitors are requested not to touch any other animal other than their own.

Personal Belongings

Items must be in a clean and parasite free condition when being left with us. We do not accept any responsibility, financial or otherwise, for damage to or loss of owner-provided collars, beds, bedding, toys, cages etc. We cannot guarantee that we will return any personal belongings left on site while you are away.

Please bring your animal in a suitable pet carrier, which will stay with the pet throughout their stay. This ensures their safety in case of emergency or unexpected trips to the vet. We require these to be clean, and clearly labelled. We reserve the right to refuse unsafe pet carriers.

You are welcome to provide your own food; there is no discount for providing your own food due to the added time preparation time. Please discuss any special dietary or medical requirements when making a booking. Food containers or bags should be clearly marked with your pet's name. We do not accept any responsibility for any negative effects of customer-supplied food. We cannot guarantee any remaining food or food containers will be returned at the end of the boarding period.

Medication

We are happy to accommodate animals on medication. Your pet’s welfare is our foremost priority. We can administer medication, but this does not include injectable medication.

All medications must be presented in containers displaying a veterinary label with animal’s name and dosage instructions. It is the owner’s responsibility to leave enough medication to cover the length of the visit.

We will administer medication to manageable animals. We can take no responsibility for the outcome, or any effects your animal may suffer, if we are unable to administer any medication due to your animal(s) becoming aggressive or likely to cause harm to the staff or themselves, in this instance we will seek veterinary advice. Any costs incurred will be payable by the owner on collection of the animal(s).

Bookings, Payments, Charges, Cancellations, Early and Late Collections

Definite bookings should be made as early as possible. It is helpful if firm times of arrival are given, together with the name, age and sex of the animal(s) and details of the diet and any relevant medical history. A 3-day minimum applies to all bookings.

A full days board is charged for the days of arrival and departure. This is to allow for the chalet to be cleaned, disinfected and prepared for the next occupant. There is an additional charge of an extra day per chalet (based on occupancy) on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Years Day and for all other Bank Holidays outside the Christmas/New Year period.

A deposit of £25 is required to secure your bookings. This is non-refundable. We currently accept BACS, Cash or Cheque for payment. Credit card payments are not accepted.

Boarding fees are to be paid on arrival, or by BACS at least a day in advance except in the case of long-term boarding, when payment is to be settled monthly after the initial month.

If a definite booking is cancelled with less than 14 days’ notice 100% of the booking total will be charged. There are no refunds for owners collecting their animals before the end of the period booked under any circumstances. You may be able to recover boarding charges on your holiday cancellation insurance where applicable.

In the unlikely event of non-collection of your animal on the checkout date and subsequent failure to contact or resolve the situation with your nominated emergency contact person within 14 days we reserve the right to find alternative accommodation for your pet on a temporary and/or permanent basis.

In the unlikely event that your cat needs to be taken the vets, a charge of £15.00 will be payable to cover our staffing and travel costs.
